A TRACK RECORD OF SAFETY
In the construction industry, there is nothing more important than safety and getting workers home safely at the end of the day. At Precizion Partners, safety is our top priority and is at the core of our company’s culture. As evidenced by our training, programs, and communication, our emphasis on safety is built through conversations, consistency, and leadership in the field. The involvement and buy-in from every team member – from leadership to onsite workers – is what makes it effective. The bottom line is that we empower workers to do what it takes to ensure they are following safety procedures and creating a safe working environment.
Our Safety Team, led by Director Eric Edsberg, creates and leads the onboarding process for all our onsite workers and follows that up with regular training and communication to ensure understanding and compliance. This emphasis has lead Precizion to some key achievements:
- An EMR rating of .51
- State Fund fall protection equipment grant 2024 & 2025
- Safety rebate check (State Fund) 2024 & 2025
TRAINING AND IMPLEMENTATION
Precizion’s certified trainers are responsible for ensuring the team is extensively trained on all the critical topics and procedures. We track and disseminate all the key metrics, and expect each team member to internalize the meaning of the topics.
We also conduct monthly Toolbox Safety Talks (TST), a safety training program with a specific theme and weekly subtopics that bring that topic to life. For example, one month focuses on Near Misses, with weekly topics discussing the definition of a near miss, how to recognize and properly report it, how to correct the situation, and why they happen. We’ve even instituted “spot awards” that enable supervisors to recognize those who exemplify solution-thinking. Most serious incidents don’t come from lack of rules. They come from lack of awareness, repetition, and follow-through. The TST training reinforces awareness, improves communication between crews, and helps safety stick.
Another great safety implementation: to enhance jobsite safety and communication, our team uses a color-coded hard hat system. Green helmets identify newer employees (under one year) so they can be easily recognized and given added guidance and mentoring. Once they gain experience, they transition to white helmets, signifying full qualification. Blue helmets designate foremen, making leadership and supervision immediately visible. This system promotes awareness, accountability, and safer coordination across every jobsite.
